Sturbridge Home Addition
We took over this job mid project because the prior contractor had walked off the job. The client sought us out to help iron out the various issues and finish the project.
We inherited an empty framed shell with no roofing, driveway, or garage flooring among many other deficiencies and a set of plans that were incorrect. There were issues with how the addition lined up to the existing structure as well as non-compliant exterior decking already partially framed.
The client had been living with a partially finished structure with parts of their home open to the elements for just about one year. We sat with the local inspector to assess what deficiencies needed to be addressed and forged forward.
The project incorporated many unique features from a steel roof to custom built in cabinets, client designed custom bathroom fixtures and incorporation of many vintage materials and fixtures. We had to leverage our engineering experience as well as close coordination with the local inspector to address a structural issue supporting the deck over the garage left by the original contractor and architect.
Utilizing our project management skills, we coordinated the many subcontractors and moving parts to complete the project. The net result was an absolutely beautiful space as well as a very happy and satisfied client.
